Introducing
The Arcadian Birdhouse
Rustik Roots X Arcadian Revival
The Arcadian,
a birdhouse with a story…
Arcadian Revival has partnered with Rustik Roots to design the first ever Arcadian Revival x Rustik Roots birdhouse, a study in architecture and storytelling created to elevate the garden or exterior space.
Arcadian Revival and Rustik Roots believe in craftsmanship that delivers design excellence and the highest quality heirloom pieces. Together they share a deep passion for sustainability, biodiversity, and honor the environment through their work.
Through this collaborative design process, Arcadian Revival and Rustik Roots are proud to present the Arcadian.
Inspired by the enduring grace of the Greek Revival style embraced in early American architecture, the Arcadian is a tribute to the democratic ideals of the young republic. With deep ties to Romantic architecture and philosophy inspired by Ancient Greece, The Arcadian celebrates the Greek Revival style as a cultural icon in well-known public landmarks and Greek Revival farmhouses and country estates throughout the United States.
Celebrating classical proportions and crafted with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship, this heritage piece reflects thoughtful design, extending the idea of home into the garden to create sanctuary for birds while honoring the natural world as an extension of home and community itself.
A nod to this focus on culture and history celebrates historic architecture and democratic ideals in honor of our country’s 250th anniversary.
The Arcadian follows ornithology guidelines, ensuring the perfect size, safety, ventilation, and temperature control for the well-being of songbirds to use this house. This includes:
reinforced solid copper entrance ring and copper ventilation ports to deter predators from widening points of entry,
a weighted base has a turned finial for better stability on windy days, and
easy-access back door or bottom for seasonal clean out,
The Arcadian is intentionally designed with no perch to discourage predators from entry.
Environmental stewardship and durability in design include sustainably sourced, FSC and SFI certified eastern white pine, durable 16 oz. solid copper roof and accent trim, and distressed VOC-free light-colored finish to reflect heat with a natural, unfinished interior
The Arcadian is made to order in two models:
Post Mount | For a stately addition, this option slides over a standard 4×4 wooden post
Hanging | Ideal for spaces without a post mount, the hanging option includes a copper ”S” hook for a branch
THE ARCADIAN IN NEW YORK CITY
With consideration for environmental impact and support of creating a better world with every facet of growing, Arcadian Revival has carefully crafted a product that meets the ethos of its namesake.
In support of several environmental and community-based nonprofits, Arcadian Revival has been impressed by the innovative program structure of the NYC Bird Alliance-led Biodiversity District.
“Led by NYC Bird Alliance with Google as a founding sponsor, the first-of-its-kind Biodiversity District program connects science, real estate, public space management, and community engagement into a single neighborhood-scale network. The inaugural district launches in Manhattan’s Lower West Side in early 2027 as a practical model that communities nationwide can replicate.” – NYC Bird Alliance
